Barleywood Farm Lane (Gaston Lane) CLOSED until 1 NOVEMBER 2025 -  Closure is 17 months old now. Still NO works date.

Brightstone Lane (top end - Four Marks) CLOSED 14th July 0930-1530

Brightstone Lane will have traffic lights: 4-6 August for HCC Gully clearance. Hopefully not at the crossroads!

Shirnall Meadow: 20 Oct 07:30 - 22 Oct 18:00  Petrol Interceptor Cleaning (Give & Take)

Parish Council

Issues: 

  • Playground maintenance ordered. New playground Equipment Ordered 11/7/25
  • We are continuing to complain about the lack of progress with Gaston Lane (Closed till 1st November) 
  • HCC will investigate the 'Hole' in the drain in Crows Lane (orange barrier) Works to be scheduled 21724818
  • Water leak in Gaston Lane reported - work scheduled for 16th July.


Planning 

Caker Stream Solar Farm - link. The construction and operation of a 44MW solar PV farm, 2MW BESS and other associated infrastructure. Deadline for comments is TODAY  and can be made here https://publicaccess.easthants.gov.uk/planning.

 

Land South of Marelands Gosport Road Lower Farringdon: Variation of Condition 8 (Opening Hours) as shown in Approval of Application Reference Number: SDNP/22/01621/FUL Date of Decision: 25/10/2024. Restrictive opening hours that threaten the viability of the proposal. The prescribed opening hours noted in the approval notice are considerably more limiting than those of surrounding local businesses and other village halls in the wider area. Please could the opening hours stipulated in Condition 8 be varied to those proposed in the submitted supporting statement.

 

2 Westcross Cottages Shirnall Hill Ref. No: SDNP/25/02436/TCA:  Removal of an old Cherry Blossom tree which has been deteriorating for the last 5 years giving concern that the tree is becoming unstable. To be replaced.
