* National Emergency Alert (Mobile Phones) 7th September *

15 minute Power Cut Monday 18 Aug and Friday 22 August between  0830-16.30 to swap onto / off a Generator. Those areas affected are: Brightstone Lane / Shirnall Meadows / Gosport Road from south of crossroads and Kitcombe.

A3 CLOSED: 1- 4th August : both directions between Junction 10 Wisley Interchange and the B2215/A247 at Send from 9pm on Friday night until 6am on Monday morning.

A32 (near Chawton Cemetery) Traffic Lights 4th  August 930-1600 (HCC - believe felling 2 trees)

Brightstone Lane will have traffic lights: 4-6 August for HCC Gully clearance. Hopefully not at the crossroads!

A3 CLOSED: 12-15th September: southbound carriageway between the A245 Painshill roundabout and Burnt Common from 9pm on Friday night until 6am on Monday morning.

Barleywood Farm Lane (Gaston Lane) CLOSED until 1 NOVEMBER 2025 -  Closure is 19 months old now. Still NO works date.

Hall Lane CLOSED 10th-14th November for water leak repair (finally) (SE Water)

East Hampshire District Council will next week consider a proposal to simplify local government across Hampshire and the Solent by replacing 15 councils with four new unitary councils. Farringdon would be under North: Basingstoke and Deane, East Hampshire, Hart, Rushmoor, Winchester.

Issues: 

• Playground maintenance ordered. New playground Equipment Ordered 11/7/25 - for plan click here
• We are continuing to complain about the lack of progress with Gaston Lane (Closed till 1st November) 
• HCC will investigate the 'Hole' in the drain in Crows Lane (orange barrier) Works to be scheduled 21724818
• Hall Lane Water Leak programmed repairs 10th-14th November
• Hedge obscuring speed signs near Annettes Farm reported to HCC 21814507

Planning 

Land South of Marelands Gosport Road Lower Farringdon: Variation of Condition 8 (Opening Hours) as shown in Approval of Application Reference Number: SDNP/22/01621/FUL Date of Decision: 25/10/2024. Restrictive opening hours that threaten the viability of the proposal. The prescribed opening hours noted in the approval notice are considerably more limiting than those of surrounding local businesses and other village halls in the wider area. Please could the opening hours stipulated in Condition 8 be varied to those proposed in the submitted supporting statement.

2 Westcross Cottages Shirnall Hill Ref. No: SDNP/25/02436/TCA:  Removal of an old Cherry Blossom tree which has been deteriorating for the last 5 years giving concern that the tree is becoming unstable. To be replaced.

Cherrytree Farm Gosport Road GU34 3EL SDNP/25/02918/APNB: Application to determine if Prior Approval is required for an extension to current steel frame agricultural building
